Methodology
Definitions used on PolyFrog. Figures below are the thresholds in this codebase, not estimates.
Data sources
Prices, books, rules text, and trades come from Polymarket’s public market feed, order book, and trade feed. PolyFrog is not affiliated with Polymarket. Lists can be about a minute behind the last worker write. A market page reads the stored row and, when the feed has it, the public market payload.
Big trade
The public feed and the worker default PF_BIG_TRADE_USD keep prints of at least $10.0K. A print is price times size. Smaller prints are dropped. The feed does not show wallet addresses.
Cost to fill
Cost to fill walks the visible ask book for a dollar budget and adds the taker fee at each level. The fee depends on the market’s fee category. Makers and markets with fees disabled are treated as zero fee in the calculator.
Frog Check
Frog Check is the card on a market page: the spread, the book, the fee, the rules text, and the UMA status returned for that market. It is a reading of public data, not a rating.
Profit if right and return if right
For a buy, shares equal dollars paid divided by the entry price. Profit if right, before fees, equals shares times (1 minus the entry price). Return if right, before fees, equals that profit divided by the dollars paid. A price of 0 or 1 does not get a figure. Fees are not subtracted.
Highlighted markets
The ticker, Hot right now, biggest movers, and resolving soon keep markets that are still open, not proposed or disputed, priced between 2¢ and 98¢, and whose stored price is at most 3 hours old. The listed end has to be more than 10 minutes away. Recurring 5-minute, 15-minute, and hourly crypto Up/Down markets stay off those surfaces. Those checks run again when the page renders, because the list cache is about a minute old. Browse and search can still show a market that is past its listed end when it is still taking orders.
